Her Voice privacy policy

Her Voice is an iPhone voice-to-text keyboard. This policy covers both the app experience and the marketing website at joinhervoice.com. The app and the website behave differently, so this page separates them clearly.

Short version: the app does not sell your data and does not use IDFA for advertising. The marketing website does use Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement so we can understand which traffic is worth paying for.

Who we are

Her Voice ("we," "us," or "our") provides an iPhone keyboard that turns spoken words into written text and formats that text for different contexts such as texts, emails, notes, and more formal writing.

How the app works

When you activate the microphone in Her Voice, the app records audio, sends it to third-party services for transcription and formatting, and returns written text to your device. The app is designed to help you write inside the places you already use on iPhone.

Audio and text processing

Your audio and, in some cases, transcribed text are sent to third-party service providers that help power Her Voice. We use these providers to perform speech recognition and optional text formatting. We do not run our own backend that stores your audio or text long-term.

We choose providers that, to our knowledge, limit retention to what is needed to process requests, but each provider operates under its own privacy policy and terms. We cannot independently guarantee every aspect of their data handling.

What stays on your device

Your transcription history is stored locally on your device.
Your settings, preferences, and usage counts are stored locally.
Your subscription status is managed through Apple and app-local storage, not our own billing backend.

What we do not do in the app

We do not sell your personal data.
We do not collect the IDFA for advertising.
We do not log keystrokes or read the text fields you type into outside of recordings you actively initiate.
We do not access your contacts, photos, or location as part of the core product.

Keyboard Full Access

iOS requires Full Access for keyboard extensions that use the microphone and network. Without it, the keyboard cannot record or send audio for transcription.

Full Access does not mean we read everything you type. It allows the keyboard to communicate over the network and access the microphone when you deliberately activate recording.

App analytics

The app may use privacy-conscious product analytics to understand reliability and feature usage. Those analytics are intended to help us improve the product, not build advertising profiles. We do not use your transcribed text, your audio, or IDFA for ad targeting.

Website analytics and advertising measurement

The marketing website at joinhervoice.com uses Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement tags. This is different from the app itself.

On the website, we may collect information such as:

Page views, scroll depth, and on-page interactions
Clicks to the App Store
Campaign parameters such as utm_source, utm_campaign, gclid, gbraid, and wbraid
Browser and device information that analytics tools typically receive

We use this information to evaluate marketing performance, reduce spend on low-intent traffic, and understand which visitors behave more like likely paying users.

Cookies and browser storage on the website

The website and its analytics tools may use cookies, local storage, or similar browser technologies to remember campaign attribution and measure visits. These technologies help us connect ad clicks with later website actions such as viewing pricing or clicking through to the App Store.

Payments and subscriptions

All payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not process your credit card information directly.

Children's privacy

Her Voice is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to address it.

Retention

We do not maintain a general-purpose backend that stores your app content. Your local history remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. Website analytics and advertising records are retained according to the policies and settings of the analytics and advertising platforms we use.

Your choices

You can stop using the app and delete it at any time.
You can clear local website storage and browser cookies through your browser settings.
You can use ad blocking or privacy tools that limit analytics and advertising measurement on the website, though some measurements may stop working as intended.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product and website evolve. If we do, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
